Cruise Sailing
Overview
Pistakee Yacht Club has added cruise sailing this year. This is an opportunity for members to get on a sailboat with a more experienced sailor. Skippers gather at the club on Monday nights at 5:00. We divide passengers/crew among the boats and then launch and go out to enjoy an evening sailing around the lake. We often all head in the same general direction so we can pass and greet each others on the lake. We welcome all types of sailboats yet the focus is on sailing boats that can take passengers. There are now three Flying Scots at the club which are crewed by two yet can be comfortably sailed with 4 or 5. There are also a couple of two person dinghies which may be looking for crew. Other skippers may want to get some extra time on a C Scow and train new crew and we also welcome single person dinghies if a skipper is so inclined. Let’s get as many sailboats on the lake as possible.
Monday night is also the night the sailing school runs kinder sailing so we do have to watch out for the kids out on smaller boats.
Summer Series
Cruise sailing officially starts after Memorial Day Weekend and runs through Labor Day Weekend.
