August 9th 2023 the Village President suggested the Pistakee Yacht Club seek a declaratory judgment to resolve the dispute concern the variance for the backlots

As suggested, the Pistakee Yacht Club filed for a declaratory judgement on October 30th 2023. The VOJ then countersued, delaying any judgement on the variance. Since then the VOJ has continued legal maneuvering which has prevented any judgement concerning the variance for over a year.

Why would the Village of Johnsburg want the declaratory judgement delayed?
